Work Stress Issues

Company owners and employees have their share of work stress problems

Employees have different levels of stress compared to business owners. They don’t have much of primary responsibilities as the owner of a company.
No Office StressOf course, we can’t say that only rank and file can experience stress because in the bigger picture, owners and managers also have their struggles.

Some notable causes of stress at work that both employees and managers should be aware of is the primary cause of stress; being overworked. Even the most outstanding employee will feel pressured when bombarded with work with a very limited period. Such thing might be irrational, but it happens all the time.

One of the causes for stress at work is a promotion. In some cases, employees get bored with their daily job and for this reason they would want to experience more challenging work for a greater compensation.

When you feel that you are overly stressed, make an effort to save yourself from self-destruction, and find ways to alleviate your current situation.

You can minimize stressful instances in your daily life if you know how to manage stress effectively. The key is never to let small responsibilities left unattended. Little things left unnoticed will pile up until such time that you can no longer bear the bulk of stress.

Organize your task according to its importance and time frame. There are tasks that are crucial, but you should have time to work it out. For this reason, it should be listed next to the urgent and Relax No Stress Pleaseimportant ones. Once you are done categorizing, create a timeline plan and make sure to include a break time and a day off in it.

Do not use your break time to finish an incomplete task. Break time is intended to your mind and body to rest. A break time will allow you to rest your brain and nerves as well as your body from the stress caused by too much work. Remember, you are responsible for keeping your physical and emotional health in good shape.

Do not ignore any sign of fatigue because it could lead to a more serious problem. If you feel that you are overly worn-out, take a rest. If you are feeling depressed, anxious and irritable, go ahead and rest. If you can’t concentrate on what you are doing and you are losing interest on it, rest.

If you are using drugs and alcohol to cope up with stress, stop and reflect!

Work StressYou have already reached the limit. Do not allow yourself to reach this far!

Strive to reduce your work stress by taking good care of yourself. You may start in restoring your physical and your emotional health. Once these two are addressed adequately, it will be easier for you to take care of your other needs as you are more optimistic and stronger when you are feeling better inside and out.

Once you are more stable physically and emotionally, your next step to getting rid of work stress is by organizing and prioritizing things. Make an effort to organize things first, and then you prioritize. Once you have done this, you are more guided, and you will regain control over stuff. This way you can well manage stress with self-control and confidence.

As an employee, it is your responsibility to take care of your health. No matter how hectic your schedule is, take your breaks and rest.

Excessive stress is not part of work related issues, but “typical” stress is!

Common Causes of Stress

There is just no getting away from stress these days.

It creeps up on you in practically every aspect of your life. Stress affects people in different ways, and some people can deal with stress better than others. No matter how much stress you can or cannot deal with, you want to learn how to reduce the amount of stress in your life. Stress, which is allowed to build up, can lead to serious health issues which could possibly be fatal.

The main causes of stress for most people include their family life and their work. Job related stress is on the increase in many countries around the world. Too many people have to commute for hours just to get to work each day. Or they are stuck in a job that they hate, but one that pays the bills.

Your home life can be stressful, as well. The majority of families, today, include two working parents, and this can lead to issue. You both come home tired and yet you have dinner to prepare, you have chores to be done and children that need attention.

The pressure of constantly being busy and active can be detrimental to your health. While you are busy running around caring for your family, you end up with no time to relax. Your body needs time to unwind and regroup after a hectic day, and a full schedule does not always allow for this.

Quite often one parent ends up doing more at home than the other. They may be the first one to get home or possibly has a less demanding job. It is still important that spouses share responsibilities and chores around the home.

Common StressOther common causes of stress include being in a bad relationship. It is not always easy to end a relationship, as you may feel guilty or just do not want to hurt the other person. Sometimes you have to cause a little pain to get to the point where you are happy again.

Caring for an elderly parent can also be extremely stressful. You already have a full day and then need to look in on a parent at the same time. You may end up having to take them to appointments or do their grocery shopping for them too.

All of these things can quickly add more stress into your life, and this is why it is important for you to recognize the signs of stress and learn how to cope with them more effectively.

Recognize the Common Causes of Stress

What Are the Symptoms of Anxiety?

Recognizing anxiety is fairly easy.

We all feel anxious from time to time throughout our lives. That anxiety is usually short term – lasting a day or less – or mid-term – lasting several days or weeks during a normally stressful period. Anxiety is a normal thing in life. It is part of our “fight or flight” response system, and when a situation occurs that stresses us, we feel anxious.

But anxiety is not always normal. You may feel anxious and discover that there is actually nothing to be anxious about in your life at the moment. If this is a problem that persists, you may be suffering from an anxiety disorder.  If your anxiety is constant, to the point where it is consuming your life – it is a problem. This type of anxiety could even cause you to fear certain situations, which in turn causes you to isolate yourself.

Note that feeling anxious and having an anxiety or panic attack is in fact, two different things. If you feel anxious, you may be worried or even feel fearful.

However, when you are having an anxiety attack, there are physical symptoms that you will have along with it, such as:

1.  Being short of breath
2.  Chest pain
3.  Shaking or trembling
4.  Pounding heart or palpitations
5.  Dizziness
6.  Nausea
7.  Hot or cold flashes

Bipolar - Mental Health

Along with worry and fear, if you feel these symptoms, you may think that you have a heart attack. You may even fear that you are going to die. While all of this is terribly scary, and treatment should be sought, the good news is that nobody has ever died from an anxiety attack. People do, however, die of a heart attack, which has similar symptoms, mistakenly thinking it is a panic attack.

The best thing to do, if you are feeling anxious, is to seek treatment for the anxiety before you suffer an anxiety attack. Treatment for anxiety is twofold – treating the mental state as well as treating the physical state.

The Age of Anxiousness

We appear to have entered the Age of anxiousness…

We’re living in extremely trying, and hard times and matters don’t seem to be getting any easier. Occasionally life may seem terribly painful and unjust, yet for some reason we manage to battle on, daily, hoping and praying that matters will soon get better.

The world seems to be a more stressful, crazier and less settled place to live in. Nothing appears safe any longer. Millions of individuals are in record levels of debt. Several are losing their jobs, their homes, their wellness and occasionally even their sanity. Bipolarity, depression and anxiety, seams to have become a way of life for way too many individuals.

Many problemsWe appear to have entered the Age of anxiousness. The ceaseless stress and doubts of living in the 21st century have for sure taken their toll. Switch on the news or open a paper and we’re bombarded with distressing images and stories. We start to wonder if we’re safe anyplace. In this, the info age, never before have we had such access to so much information.

Another stressor is the economic system. A lot of Americans are in debt and so is our country. Lofty gas prices, exorbitant housing costs, even the cost of food has sent a lot of Americans to work in jobs that are disappointing and frustrating. They work these jobs as they require a paycheck.

Now, instead of work in a dream career, it’s more crucial to bring home the bacon.

Having more women in the workplace adds to the tension. Numerous women feel they have to be everything to everybody, and that includes a paycheck earner, home keeper, mother, wife, daughter, and sibling. The only trouble with that is a few women just don`t make any time for themselves, therefore, contributing to their stress levels representing an all-time high.

Even youngsters may feel the pressure of stress and anxiety. Adolescents who want to go to college discover themselves pushing themselves during their studies to attempt and get scholarships so they may attend schools that have ever increased tuition prices.

On top of all that, they discover themselves having to hold down part- time jobs to make money for extras that their parents can no more afford. Add peer pressure into the mixture and you’ve got a veritable pressure cooker! Cells, internet, palm pilots, blackberries, and i-pods – we’re always on the go and forever approachable.  We don’t make time to unwind and enjoy life any longer. Why not? We surely should!

If stress is induced by us not feeling in control of a state of affairs, the answer is to attempt and reverse this, and find that control.

The good news is: you are able to! You’ve everything inside you that you require to overcome your stress and the accompanying anxiety. The issue is, as we feel so out of control at the time, that we often don’t realize it. But the tools are there you simply have to use them.

Anxiety Acupuncture – Fighting Hospital Anxiety

Acupuncture for Parents.

A recent study points toward a new way of fighting hospital anxiety acupuncture. The study used acupuncture around the ears of mothers of children undergoing surgical procedures and discovered that the process not only made things easier for the moms, but for the children, as well.Acupuncture Clinic

A relatively small test group of mothers whose children would be undergoing surgery in the site hospital was given an acupuncture treatment around the ear using small needles. The mothers later reported a significant reduction in their level of anxiety. Acupuncture did not just work for the moms. However, their relative calm and lack of worry had an impact on their children too.

A calm mother, it seems, tends to produce a less anxious child. This certainly appeared to be the case of the kids whose moms had underwent the treatment, they experienced far less anxiety. Acupuncture for their mothers allowed them to have a more relaxing and less stressful experience in the hospital and prior to surgery. Children often have an extremely difficult time, in terms of anxiety, with surgery. They experience all of the fears adults do but without the experience and knowledge that allow older people to approach the situation more calmly and rationally.

Scary Mental HospitaleThis finding is potentially significant for a few reasons. Initially, it demonstrates that there may be another weapon in the war against anxiety. Acupuncture seems to have a real impact on stress levels and holds out a great deal of potential for reducing anxious feelings and worries. The research is confirming the long held beliefs of many in Eastern countries whose civilizations have long practiced acupuncture and consider it a traditional part of their medicine.

Additionally, the surgical procedure can be improved by reducing anxiety.

Acupuncture for the parents made the surgical experience easier for the children. The reduction in pre-procedure stress and usually resulting crying and outbursts allowed those responsible for the children’s care to better concentrate on the surgical procedure and medical matters. Medical professionals could spend less time to take care of people on anxiety and more time on the surgery. Acupuncture for the parents of children slated for surgeries may be a brilliant idea for hospitals everywhere.

Finally, everyone agreed to take away the frightening and trying experience of the medical procedure since this would be a positive thing and, easier for children. If children, by calming parents, can have a less horrifying stay at the hospital and in preparation for surgery, it is beneficial, regardless of whether or not it dramatically assists healthcare providers.

The acupuncture process itself was relatively painless, featuring a handful of truly small needles placed around the ears. Most study participants were surprised that the remarkably small devices were able to have such a significant impact on their mindset and behavior.

The research, which was conducted by a physician at the Yale School of Medicine, shows us that there might be a relatively easy way significantly to reduce hospital waiting room anxiety: Acupuncture.
